About Duane

Hello, my name is Duane Grassbaugh, and I would like to be your 90th District State Representative.

I am a lifelong resident of Howard and I am a graduate of East Knox High School where I was active in 4-H and the FFA. I was the 1991 Ohio FFA Star State Farmer. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science. Upon graduation, I became the dairy herd manager on my families’ 120-cow dairy farm, Grassydell Farms. In 1996 I started my small business working in the field of dairy and beef cattle genetics serving Knox and Morrow counties.

I am a lifetime member of the Ohio Farmers Union and I am currently serving as the President of the Knox/Licking Farmers Union. As a member of the Farmers Union I have been an activist for Ohio’s family farmers and rural residents. I have made numerous trips to Washington D.C. to lobby on behalf of Ohio family farmers, most recently to bring attention to the needs of Ohio’s family farmers in the new farm bill. I have served on the Ohio Farmers Union’s State Policy and By-law committees. I am a member of the Knox County Cattleman’s Association, the Ohio FFA Alumni, Ohio Holstein Association, Holstein USA, American Hunters and Shooters Association and the Knights of Columbus. I spent 6 years on the Knox County Dairy Service Unit, where I held offices of Vice-President and Secretary.

I became active in the Knox County Democratic Party in the mid-1990’s and have stayed active to this day. I have served a precinct captain and I have worked on numerous campaigns. I was the Democratic candidate for the state legislature (90th district) in the 2004 and 2006 elections.

DID YOU KNOW? The milk produced on Duane’s family farm is used to make Guggisberg Cheese, available at many markets throughout Ohio.
